I am trying to buy an M6700 UK spec. I talked with Dell sales person and was told AMD M6000 does support IPS display. Then talked with Dell tech support and they said it doesnt support IPS 10bit display. Does it support or not?
Another thing I seen is trying to configure Dell M6700 covet base (pheonix red) with edge to edge IPS panel. I want to ask how much difference is there between the two IPS options given for M6700? Currently there are two options of IPS screen. The edge to edge screen is much cheaper than the anti glare IPS. Do they both have same spec and cover full aRGB/NTSC? Or any difference between them? Thanks

The m6000 should be able to consider we can config that with IPS in US.

Covet E2E is much cheaper? That doesn't make sense, IPS is built in on Covet and normal IPS is a upgrade.

Edit : Look like euro does have some funny configuration indeed. The best bet is to wait for bokeh's review.

Covet IPS RGB E2E is £68. Anti glare IPS is £400+. But E2E doesnt mention premium panel guarantee. I wanted to ask if the two IPS screen types are identical, only that E2E is non matte?

Edit: when i do configure the E2E IPS screen, it always come with compatibilty error with webcam. And it doesnt let me change any camera options. Frustrating. Been trying to order one for days but no luck. When i do chat with dell sales they tell me its a site error.

The M6000, I did have a look on spec sheet from Dell website on various graphics card options, the M6000 and intel 4000 integrated cards doesnt say it supports 10-bit display while others like the Nvidia do say it has support for 10bit upto 1.. Billion colours support.

The AMD M6000 does support 10-bit color output to the IPS display. We've had confirmation from Dell on this very board. It's an available configuration option here in the US now though it wasn't available for a few months after the M6700 launched, that might be part of the reason for the confusion.

Ok that clears things up. Not sure why Dell tech support said it didnt support.
Now just remains if there is any difference between the two IPS screens (E2E IPS and anti glare IPS screens) in terms of colour space coverage.

Dell didn't offer or support the IPS with the firepro until recently. When i bought mine in september, it wasn't available with the firepro.

Could the firepro support the IPS panel but not 10-bit color?

Thats what i was thinking, maybe it supports it but not 10bit, but then you may as well question if this was the case then why not intel integrated graphics support it in some 'compromised' way to give way for optimus. Am not sure, just asking the more experienced people on here as to why the M6000 wasnt offered in first place but now it is.

Are you sure it's 10hrs with the Optimus? The battery is only 7AH larger than my M17x R4 and I can only get about 5.5hrs tops on my machine.
