Dell Precision m6600 video card faulty

    You will have to move thermal compund around. Heatsink in m6600 is good for both nvidia and amd cards.

    The thermal compound is the thermal pads. It is green or white plastic stuff.

    My 8900 card was going bad last year also. The screen would just go black before booting into windows. It also had a graphics memory fault error with the Dell diagnostics. After pissing around with Dell's tech support for over a month trying to transfer the warranty I just decided to Re-Flow the card myself. I did the research, used a temp probe and heat gun. Did the correct procedure to reflow it and walla! It works perfectly now. Its been running for a year now with no problems. A lot of the 8900's seem to have a poor soldering issue from the factory and any bump or shock to the laptop will cause an issue. I posted about my issues on the owners thread last year, but I never reported back.

    I going to downgrade from k5000m to m6100, will try to take some shot.

    I actually bought another refurb with m6100, but forgot to take some pic when I repaste it.
