Looking through Notebookcheck.net and comparing some of the benchmarks, it looks like it will perform somewhere between the current 3000M and 4000M.

Look at the Specviewperf 11 scores of the K2000M vs the 3000M and 4000M. Depending on the individual test, the K2000M is sometimes faster than both.

    3D Mark 11 Performance GPU 1280x720 scores are 2000M 1261, 3000M 1539, K2000M 1797, 4000M 2092.

Also, don't forget that Nvidia Kepler drivers are barely out. I see these numbers going up.

    The K2000 seems like a DDR3-equipped GT650 :/

This is inferior. Ignore DDR3 equipped graphics cards entirely.

I'd like to ask a question of Dell-Bill_B to pass the time. :)
(Or anyone else who'd like to answer but I'm interested in an "insider" perspective.)

What's the best way to go about buying one of these workstations as a personal machine? Although I'll be using mine for work mostly, I'll be making the purchase myself, not on behalf of a business. They're not available from the "consumer" side of the online store, only the business ones. (Accordingly, it's not possible to pay for one using a Dell Preferred Account.)

I was planning on just calling up the home office or small business sales line and speaking to a rep to place my order (I've heard that a rep might be able to get a little bit of a better deal than you can get online) but I was wondering if there were any other more appropriate options.

Today I've visited Apple store and looked at retina display in MBR. And I have to admit - it looks very sharp with a high contrast, very nice... And boy, they are very thin, aren't they? I start to envy guys, who use them... :(

Why other computer manufacturers are so far behind them in computer's design??? I don't get it...

The big drawback for me though is - they (Apple) in MBR offered those stupid half-sized vertical arrow keys. It's the main reason I don't look at HP EliteBook workstations anymore. They did the very same dumb mistake too, making it hard to use vertical arrow keys. :( I guess those, who work mainly with text (source codes, documents, tables, manuals, etc) know what I mean. Idiots... what are they thinking? If I watch myself, my right hand is almost all the time on those arrow keys (unless I'm typing a text, of course)...

But again, retina display does look very attractive in those thin laptops! And now I want to have something similar :)
