Wait and watch. Haswell is, after all, about Power Savings and increased battery life, you may get away without two batteries for usage.

Not surprising, Extended battery life is the hub around which thin and light exists. Its the place all manufactures start when creating these devices.

Exactly, so even though it may not have an easily replaceable battery, the battery life should be great nonetheless.

Doesn't it depend on the market segment?
I doubt Razer was focused on extended battery life for the 14" Blade (37W CPU + 60-65W GPU + 70Wh bat) or 17.3" Blade Pro (47W CPU + 60-65W GPU + 74Wh bat)
MSI also has the 17.3" GS70 with a 47W CPU + 60-65W GPU and dual fan solution.

In these days of configurable CPU TDP and advanced power management solutions Dell could get away with the K2100M in the M3800 for their 'retina plus' display @ an additional 10W...if they wanted to
Based on the 14" Blade they should be able to do a 47W CPU in a 15.6" chassis as well if they are willing to sacrifice some battery life

Dell laptops equipped with regular (non-low voltage) Intel CPUs can sometimes have pathetic battery lives.

Even at only 35W TDP, an i5 (older gen) laptop may last only an hour or two on Word processing/Web browsing, lowest brightness, no audio or video playback. Bulky power supplies are unavoidable.

Is Haswell really all it claims to be? We'll see. A 47W processor with that 65WHr battery? Even the i5 struggles big time.

Those lower clock Core 2 Duos back in the day... gave pretty good battery life, for Dell. The XPS M1300 was a fine machine.

The Mx700 Precision series already has pretty good battery life though, 4-5 hours with the GPU on all the time and 8-10 hours with Optimus.

That's good to know. 8 hours for a Windows laptop not on ULV? How the hell was that achieved. Why can't XPS laptops get a fraction of that battery life.

Getting the battery to last that long on these laptops requires being pretty careful but it is possible. SSDs, minimal background apps and activity, reduced brightness, etc. I haven't gotten mine up that high (nor have I taken a particular effort to, I'm not away from the outlet very often).

Putting in my daily 'DELL RELEASE THIS ALREADY' post, just in case Michael Dell was holding out on us.

Subtract a few watts for the current CPUs. They idle at less than a watt. The new displays also seem to draw less power.
