    1) Image editing.
    2) Apps with a ton of small text, if you have good enough eyesight for it. A lot of my coworkers are very macho about the tiny point size of the code they're editing. I think they're nuts, but...

Hmm I guess it would make sense to go with 1080p and spend on other stuff. If only - the configurations may not allow it.

Well content developer could certainly make good us of it. Similarly, it may be advantageous if you're gamer.

Other than that there is no commercially available content beyond HD. And without scaling, the added resolution may be a double edged sword.

Nevertheless, it is currently your best edge when it comes to future proofing since monitor resolution has traditionally led content development.

Right now it seems like 1080p would be better for regular home and work use. I may see more of the spreadsheet at QHD+, but not well enough for my brain to pick it up.

Zooming in on images and non text PDFs are bad enough on 1080p windows

Event that is not universally accepted. More than a few people have voiced little or need for that much resolution on a laptop.

    As I've just mentioned.

Joining in the queue here. Ever since I've come across this I can't wait for Dell to launch this!

I haven't gone through this thread but I will in time. Can someone quickly point out the tentative launch date or is there no word on that yet?

Well that sucks. I do not know if I can hold out that long. I hope it comes earlier than November.

According to a representative of a french firm selling Dell computers to french students with a special student discount, the m3800 will be available for purchase in late september,
Réduction DELL Etudiant : Inspiron Alienware Latitude Vostro Precision - Page : 422 - Portable - Ordinateurs portables - FORUM HardWare.fr
and he knows what he is talking about : 2 days before the availability of the m4800 he has said that for the m4800 it will be a matter of days before it will be orderable (all was already ready to put on sale the new model, the firm in question was just waiting for green light from Dell).
