I am looking at a dell precision 7520. I am trying to decide between the WX 4150 and the Quadro M2200. In the past, AMD has usually been ahead with multiple monitor support (example, this desktop has a GTX 1080 and it only supports 4 monitors, which is pathetic).

Ultimately, I would like this to support 6 1440p displays using two MST hubs. I have looked at the bandwidth required for such a task, and it seems like with two DP 1.2 outs, I can get away with it at 60hz. I would also run this laptop with 2x 4k displays, which would easily be done on any modern laptop.

I am getting conflicting stories from Dell some reps quickly say "yes, both can" some reps quickly say "never in a laptop, impossible"). Nvidia and AMD both say that their products are capable (however, only AMD specifically lists 6 displays, but that also seems to be a MAX). The person at Nvidia seemed to think theirs could do 32 displays? Both manufacturers insist i get with dell to ensure their product can handle the task.

Has anyone tried this before? I do not want my company to pay for a $2800 laptop if it cannot complete this simple task.

Six displays is an unusual configuration, never tried it... We have had four external displays (2x 1080p and 2x 4K, all 60 Hz) working without much trouble on the 7510, through outputs on the laptop and also the ePort dock — so, some displays driven by the Intel GPU and some by the NVIDIA GPU.

Strangely, on my 7510 with the TB16 dock, I can get two 4K displays working off of the Intel GPU, but if I disable graphics switching (so that only the NVIDIA GPU will be used), it will only output to one 4K display. I haven't tried this in configurations other than with the TB16 dock.
