Either you're very unlucky or you're doing something wrong. Now, do you wish to specify?
We don't have Dell monitors for me to compare it to, but its certainly as good as Apple's Cinema display. And although I haven't been able to run any tests, I suspect it has a higher color gamut.

Not since the 4k got introduced. As expected, prices have begun to drop. In fact, I'm now able to order a pair in lieu of my cancelled order for the 4k monitor.

Replaced 4 panels and all of them were defected with green and pink color cast.

Which would then leave one to suspect a faulty batch.

That's why I said m4700 is faulty.. design or qc.. batch = large volume

maybe only one m4700 out of all is good. don't you think?

Color cast or tinting? Virtually all Premiercolor / Dreamcolor IPS displays suffer from some - variable - amount of tinting. Usually blue on the lower right side and sometimes pink in the lower left corner. It's a feature, so to speak, for which the RBG LED technology is at least partly responsible. And it's usually visible only against a white or light background.

If that's intolerable, go for a TN. Less tinting - if you're lucky - but likely other color anomalies and narrower gamut.

If it's a color cast: does it persist after calibration? Premiercolor / DC displays are factory calibrated, which usually translates in a decent calibration which may, however, be improved on with a good calibrator. (Not my case with a Spyder4, but I am not an expert at calibrating or spotting color imperfections, and the Spyder itself is not the best tool.)

So try to calibrate it with a 3rd-party device (uninstall the Mobile Display Assistant first) and see if the cast persists. If no calibrator is at hand, try to switch between the Display Assistant modes (sRGB, aRGB etc.) to see if the cast is present in all modes. If it does not, maybe some factory mode is miscalibrated

Interesting advice. Too bad they replaced me with M4800 without RGB panel. But if it's a feature like you said, I probably can't use it to produce accurate image result using my bear eyes.

For the 17" it is orangish on left and blueish on right?~~
on 15" it is greenish and magentaish iirc.

not really a feature, but limitation?
The color temperature variance is actually really low except in the corners.

If perfectly acurate color is critical in all areas of the screen, then probably not suitable, indeed.

A 'feature' in the sense of 'unavoidable limitation'. My experience is blue and pink on the 17" and the green and pink on the 15".
