Any luck with the Support Assist Diagnostics or ePSA?
All drivers and BIOS up to date?
Any hints in Windows Event Log around the time of the hang?

Might want to check out the troubleshooting advice referred to on this page:

No, but you can easily get the keyboard replaced if you just contact support (by phone or chat). I had my 7530 keyboard replaced just a couple of weeks ago. If you feel comfortable replacing it yourself then you can ask them to send just the keyboard and not a tech.

On my 7730 coil whine stops when I disable C states in BIOS / performance.

Running the diagnostics now. 53% and 1hr 22mins in so far, and no errors yet.... Got a couple of driver updates to do afterwards too, according to SupportAssist.

I looked in the reliability report thing (screenshot in my original post) but will also check the event log after the diagnostics have finished.

Thanks for the link - will have a look.

BTW Support Assist doesn't always correctly identify all the available updates - worth getting a second opinion from the service website (based on your service tag), and of course updating any 3rd party component drivers. Since you are running your Sabrent SSDs in Raid mode there probably aren't any though.

    Thanks.

    All diagnostics came back fine.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I was just in the process up updating this driver when the PC froze again..
    upload_2020-3-5_12-39-10.png

The time it froze at was 11.59am.

Looking in the event history, that's just when it installed 2 new drivers... (although interestingly the most recent driver installation was at 12:00pm, but the clock was stuck on 11:59am when it froze... Is that helpful at all?

    Thanks again

Although it crashed halfway through the SupportAssist driver update process, when I ran it again it didn't find any new drivers, so I guess the process must have somehow completed. It looked to be at around 60% when it crashed though...

Also, it's just found a BIOS update. I wonder if that could help things....

This is what's in the BIOS update:

There are loads of drivers available for my service tag (3 of which are urgent).

Should I download all of them? Although I notice the nVidia drivers are older than the one I recently downloaded from their own website...

One of the drivers said this after I ran it (chose the option to repair rather than remove):

Could any of these be useful?

Although I don't have a toshiba drive as far as I'm aware... Unless the C drive that came with the PC is...

Sorry, just realised. All those drivers are not updates - they're just drivers that apply to my system, which are probably all installed already.

I need to get it to analyse my system to find updates - all it found was the bios update.

Maybe the BIOS update will help.

I've also found a new Nvidia driver (released 27th Feb) so installing that too.

I'm not ignoring the advice that it's most likely a hardware fault - I'm just trying easier alternatives first on the offchance they fix it. Working without 2 of my 3 SSDs would be a huge inconvenience... Also going from 128GB to 8GB RAM wouldn't be great. I'll run the RAM check overnight tonight, but the SupportAssist diagnostics didn't find any error with it.

    Thanks guys

Yeah, updates as in newer driver versions. If you run an installer and it wants to repair, you are already up to date. The auto updater on the website tends to do a good job, although I usually sort by release date and install by hand. Latest Nvidia driver is fine - judging by the symptoms, it is unlikely to be the root cause here.

Toshiba SSD firmware could be useful if you have that drive, intel RST is very relevant in Raid mode.

Thanks - although since that post I've realised they drivers I've already got installed and not updates....

However I did run the RST driver and it said it repaired something... Whether or not it actually did, who knows....

Thanks, yeah, I read that somewhere. However, will that affect my performance? And/or, will it result in more fan noise?

What details do you see in the Details section for the unexpected shutdown critical event?
