I have a Dell 5510 with a Samsung 950 pro NVME drive. Currently on Windows 10 Pro version 1511 OS build 10586.916.

I can not upgrade to either 1607 nor 1703.

The updater goes through all of the steps, and then on reboot I get a BSOD error with a winload.efi problem.

I have researched extensively, and tried all of the "fixes" that I have found, none work.

Has anyone successfully upgraded to either of these versions? If so, how?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

DId your search include the XPS15 9550? It's basically the same hardware.

Thanks John. I did. I see several people who have 1607 or 1703 on the 9550 with an NVME drive. I find issues with other computers and 1607/1703 and NVME drives.

I wanted to see if anyone else had the problem and/or how they resolved.

Did you try creating a new boot option and moving it to the top in BIOS?

This weekend, I upgraded to latest bios (1.2.25) and downgraded to Samsung NVME driver 2.0 (suggested in another thread here to eliminate the freezing issue - 9550, I was also having this on the 5510).

I then tried to upgrade again, and it finished successfully. Hopefully, this will take care of the freezing issue as well.
