Dell Power Manager Custom Battery Settings Problem

    I may have had some success... Ran the laptop standalone (on battery) for a while with some movie encoding to give the battery a good workout and get it below the 90 % mark. Now sitting at 86% I've returned it to the dock station and it's sitting there with the status "86% available (plugged in, not charging)" exactly how it should be.

    I'll run it for a while tonight off the battery and report back later tomorrow on what happens.

    You had succeeded in confusing me because your capacity values are shown in terms of mAh whereas it is normal to use Whr or mWh.

    So I'm running short of ideas for your charging problem. It's controlled at the BIOS level so a change in the version of Windows shouldn't matter. Have you tried switching to a different charge management mode such as Adaptive then switch back to Custom?

    Yes, tried switching to different charge management modes previously but to no avail.

    As per post #11 I seem to be having some success now . Perhaps the removal of the battery whilst active on the mains did the trick. Will report back
