Don't know if anyone's interested but I just ordered a scratch & dent M90 (FX2500M, T7400, Bluetooth, 802.11g, DVDRW, WUXGA, lousy hard drive) for under $700 all in, using a one-time 15% off coupon. Planning to get rid of the desktop and Precision M65 and just use the M90.

Hoping it's not too disfigured but don't much care about cosmetic imperfections. The great thing about the Outlet Precisions is they come with a 3-year NBD on-site warranty at no added cost.

There seemed to be a lot of them as of yesterday.

    Long time no see :D

That sounds like a great deal, I ordered a Latitude E4300 a few months back and still using it now. I got it for some ridiculous price of around $600 after a 30% off coupon. Cosmetically it's fine, other than the green refurbished sticker that has to be removed if you want it to look new. Dell Outlet is the best operated refurb online market, Lenovo and HP outsource theirs and the experience is very different.

Thanks, Andrew. It is nice to be back. I've kind of gone all practical when it comes to my computers, but I'm as frugal as ever and thought others might be interested.

When I got the 15% off coupon I just had to check and figured there was no way I could pass up resetting the 3-year warranty at no cost once I sell the M65, which I always use, and the desktop, which I never use.

I tell everyone at work about Dell Oulet and often help with specific choices. Nobody's ever been disappointed. For Latitudes I always recommend paying the extra $99 for NBD on-site warranty service.

As your E4300 shows, with the right coupon and decent timing, the prices are often way better than half off. I've only bought business machines so I don't know about the consumer side, but the business notebooks are unbeatable for the price.

A little follow-up, though I doubt most NBR people are looking for a laptop that hasn't been current for about 3 years.

Anyway, got the M90 and found that it's a little rough: some spots, small scratches and wear, and the lower-right-hand corner is missing a bit of black plastic and showing metal, either through wear or being banged or something (hard to tell).

Overall, however, I'm quite happy with it. Fantastic WUXGA LCD that looks close to new and a new-looking keyboard too. Great speakers (for a notebook), no issues as far as I can tell, excellent performance, and an on-site warranty for 3 years.

I did replace the 60GB 5400RPM hard drive with a 200GB 7200RPM, bringing the total cost to about $730, but I can't say enough about Dell Outlet for the selective, frugal shopper. It's not as if getting a computer for a quarter of what it sold for 3 years ago is necessarily the way to go, but it can be.

My little plug for Dell, which I've always liked.
