    Or are they E6500's?

    I've been perusing through the inventory and specifically filtered by E6400.

    Sure enough, in the grid, all's right. E6400, 14.1" screen...seems consistent.

    But then I click on the details and I see something like this:

    Code:
    Latitude E6400
    (System Identifier: 09VFH2JJ)

        * Latitude E6500 Laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo P9600 (2.66GHz, 6M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
        * Genuine Windows XP Pro with Vista Business License
    Here's another:

    Code:
    Latitude E6400
    (System Identifier: 09AMYY68)

        * Latitude E6500 Laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo P9600 (2.66GHz, 6M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
        * Genuine Windows XP Pro with Vista Business License
    This isn't only on one system, but on multiple listings under E6400. So what gives? Is it an E6400 or an E6500 :confused:

    It's going to be an E6400 if it says it's an E6400. Even when you buy a new machine (or at least according to some early purchasers) they list some parts as being for the E6500 probably because the two do share similar or identical components. I wouldn't worry about not getting an E6400, and in the minute chance you don't, you can just call Dell and demand the proper machine.

    Thanks for the reassurance :D

    I'm going to give it a shot and see how the dice land.

    I'm curious as well. A lot of the machines with specs that fit me had this "typo", so naturally that limited my selection. I might call Dell tomorrow and verify just to be sure.

    I am actually not so sure about that. I would trust the actual description more than the classifier in the sorting list. There are way too many mistakes made by people who put the inventory in, IME.
