Not that I really care, but I wonder why it's no longer offered?

Very interesting indeed. They have 3 15 inch models, 1 13 inch and two 17 inch. The Vostro 1410 is not supposed to be out for a while.

Could be a temporary withdrawal due to a parts supply shortage.

Supposedly the older Vostro's were going to be phased out, i.e. 1400, 1500 and 1700. You can still get a 1400 from the outlet store.

Too bad. I like the 14" size... I think it's a bummer they're dropping it.

I just ordered a Vostro 1400 last night. I found it by going to the small business page, down to the E-catalog. Inside the catalog is a great deal for the 1400. I clicked to customize and was able to do so and everything went through for ordering. Couldn't believe the price for what I wanted. Couldn't beat any consumer or education price for the same specs. And I got it shipped with XP so I know will work with all my work-related programs. Maybe not as slick looking as the other models, but will get the job done at much better price.

    Intel Core 2 Duo T7250
    2GB DDR2 SDRAM
    128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
160GB Free Fall Sensor Hard Drive, 7200RPM
    8X DVD Burner w/ double-layer DVD+R write capability
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g

    $828 before tax.

Nice - I ordered mine on the 12th and got it a couple of days ago. It looks much better in person than in the reviews. For the specs, the price was unbeatable.

I tried to order a 1400 a couple weeks ago. Had it in my cart, ready to pull the trigger and decided to sleep on it. Got up the next morning, went to buy it and it was gone  Could not believe it. Ended up getting a D410 from the DFS side and am very happy with the choice, worked out great in the end as I really wanted smaller than the 14", the 12" is perfect!
