    I don't understand two isssues:
    1. The laptop works based on the intel graphic chip on the moterboard, why nobody mentions this?
    2. Why you don't try to fix the graphic card via internal means like fan control
    instead of baking?

ad 1. just use the standarg VGA driver- unfortunately the resolution is odd, so teh aspect ration is not correct anymore but better than nothing...

ad 2. I8kfanGUI would allow to heat the graphic card to 70 or 80 °C and then it should be cooled down slowly and never ever heatet again to more than 40-45°C. This does not help forever but....

    1) There is no Intel GPU on the motherboard. All of these dGPU machines use the 945PM chipsets, which don't have an iGPU.

    2) It's a hardware problem. Once it's gone, it's gone; you can't "fix" it with software. Changing the fan profiles can delay chip failure, but it definitely isn't a post-hoc anything.

Commander wolf is right the problem was on my Hardware... the laptop got overheated by poor ventilation and damaged the card.

The baking solution DID solve the problem (temporally), Although now I get lag spikes from the CPU. Looks like it might be old thermal paste on it that have solidified. I think I am going to open it again :p happy times!!!

PS: I8kfanGUI is A great program to control the fans of the Dell's of that era and I am using it.

As a 5+ year owner of an XPS M1710 (same chassis as Precision M90) your best approach is as follows:

    1) Don't use the laptop for gaming at all
    2) Regularly hoover the vents of the laptop to remove dust
    3) Use a docking station and elevate the base to enable optimal cooling

In this way, you can avoid stressing the graphics card and prolong the lifetime of the machine.

Most of the time, my 7900 GTX cards got fried when I played games. So avoid stressing the graphics card, and the rest is a pretty solid machine.

CAD Is my main concern because I need to use it daily.
Back home I use a table PC, now that I am visiting my family and I found my old M90 I want to resurrect it a little for a small work station away from base.

    :p :p

I had this exact same issue you're describing. The GPU started to go bad. Took the GPU daughterboard off the mainboard and blasted a heatgun in front of the GPU silicon for a couple minutes and it fixed the problem.
