Dell M90 Hardrive Upgrade

    The processor says T7200. X86 family 6 Model 15 stepping 6 GenuineIntel 1997 Mhz. Would my computer be able to usea the whole capacity of the drive then or just part?

    Is this a common issue with laptops? Would it make sense for the dell M90 (bought brand new abour a year ago) to have that restriction?

    The chipset for a T7200 would have no problem with 320GB but, as already noted, there could be a BIOS limitation (as someone recently found out with an HP in another thread). However, this limitation is rare.

    The other thing to check is whether your existing HDD is SATA or PATA. Look in Device manager for the model number of the existing HDD then Google for the specs.

    Is there any way to check for the limitation in the BIOS if there is one? How could i find that out?

    250gb and 320gb drives work just fine in a few of our M90's at work.
