Losing Ethernet and Firewire means no Macbook Pro's for on-location video streaming. Yes, we could get a Firewire Express Card and USB Ethernet adaptor, but now I just added 2 more points of failure. OSX 10.7 has already made Flash Media Live Encoder buggy enough to not be reliable for live use on a Mac.

On the plus side, I just got through streaming 7 live commencement ceremonies over 3 days using 2 M6600s. Did not drop a single frame in the 31 hours they were running. The IPS panel on the M6600 gives me better NTSC colors than the CRT monitors on the video switching console.

I should order a M6600 from Dell to compare the two side by side. Are there any IPS type on the Dell outlet? How can I tell?

Are all of the 1920 x 1080 panels the IPS type?

No... In fact, I imagine most units have non-IPS displays. There is a non-IPS 1920x1080 available (in fact the IPS wasn't available for the first few months after the M6600's release). On the Dell Outlet you'll have to find a listing that specifically mentions that the IPS screen is included.

Just received my Spyder4 Elite colorimeter. The Spyder 3 was very good, but was released before the age of wide gamut RGBLED screens. My new measurements show that the Spyder 3 was not able to read the full gamut of the M6600.

Will be updating the review with updated information.

Is the only way to get one of these panels is through the main Dell SB site? I've been trolling the Outlet but it looks like most of the stock has been depleted.
