    A number of M6400 owners have 3700M issues.
    Is there a known problem with this Nvidia card?

    Yes you need the docking station.

    Hi Llavelle - thats interesting thanks for taking the time for answering I had no idea that the docking station was necessary to use twin monitors.

    Do you have any idea how this works? I mean is it a case of "tricking" the output on the laptop to display one single very wide screen which the dock station then splits into two signals for the left and right or does the dock station interface with the laptop somewhere else?

    Im just wondering if theres going to be some alternative way of doing it.

    I know some companies sell a "dual head" or "triple head to go" type adapter - not cheap - which does a similiar job re splitting the signals, ones analogue and the others digital I think.

    See this thread about Dual monitors with the E6400. I expect the M6400 will behave the same. It also seems likely from this thread that you could the VGA and DisplayPort ports without needing a docking station.
