The Q9000 is a heck of a lot cheaper than the Q9100 and doesn't perform much worse (6MB cache is enough for most apps). It would still be far beyond a dual core in most business applications. It doesn't run as hot as the Q9100 or the QX9300, not even much more than the dual cores, so I'm not sure where you got your info from.

Yes, people are definitely complaining, but I think the vast majority are still generally satisfied with the build quality of the machines, and most will not hesitate to compare their T400/400s/500 to the E5400/5500/6400/6500. The W700 is about 8.4 pounds and built like a tank. That said, I can't comment on the M6400 at all.

According to reviews, despite the same TDP, higher end processors typically have slightly more power draw and hence produce a little more heat. Hence why I thought it was weird when the other poster stated that the Q9000 was hotter than the Q9100 and QX9300, when the latter two have more cache and higher clocks.

I think you need this laptop for graphics and primary communication is screen, so Adobe RGB 100% or Lenovo 72% gamut says all :)
I have M6400 with glossy glas, I don't like reflections, but if I look some other screen then I forgot it, picture is much, much better.
And last, usually is better to stay old brand, you know where is keys, where is repair shop, where is drivers, etc
In my opinion Dell has maked big step forward with new M6400 series design, Lenovo goes back with T500, W700 etc
