    Hey guys.
Just bought myself a used Dell Precision M4600. It is a nice machine, BUT i have a problem. I really want the increased battery runtime offered by Optimus. I read in the manual that there should be an option to enable it in the bios. I do however not have that option.

Also, only a single graphics adapter is shown in the device manager. So my first thought was: I got a machine with the IPS display, but how do i verify if this is the case? In the bios the display is called a 15,6" FHD.

So any ideas? I am kind of pissed if Optimus is not available and would not have chosen the machine if i knew it had the IPS display :-(

Thanks in advance and have a great day

    regards kenneth

If you have an NVIDIA card, then the reason that you do not see the Optimus option is probably because you have an IPS display. (Optimus is also not available if you have an AMD/ATI graphics card.)

What model display do you have? Download hwinfo64 to find out.

Thanks. I did run that tool and bingo, it was an IPS.

That is really frustrating. I was not informed about this. I am going to bite the head off that jerk I bought it from!

But again, thanks for pointing me towards that tool.
