This is for the actual OWNERS of the M4400..

Whats your opinion on the case design? Im looking to purchase and looking at the case it looks kind of frimpy and ugly, and that ripple effect on the outside seems very cheesy!

But i've been fooled many times by pictures online vs. the look of something in person.

By contrast, the 6400 series look like they have beautifully elegant case designs with aluminum look to them.

So in person, does the M4400 look ugly as well, or does it look nice?

    thaks!

I think it looks swell, but like Intoxicate said, it's a very subjective opinion.

I think it looks really good actually...but indeed a matter of taste.
However it does not feel or look cheap, materials used are great and i kinda like how it sets it apart from most other laptops.
Btw...the black brushed lid of the Latitude also fits

I think you need to get used to it. When I first saw my friend's (I don't own one) I didn't like it, but eventually I've gotten to like it.

I was wondering if it is possible to replace the lid on the M4400 for the black E6500 lid? Will this fit and if so, where can i get hold of a black lid? It may seem a bit silly but the silver wave lid is really what is keeping me from placeing the order

I have a M4400 on order (with RGB LED) and my order confirmination says "LCD Back Cover : Black Finish with RGB LED" - so there might be a slight chance mine is black (-same style as the E6500).
If that is the case - you can ask Dell to make the lid black.. I'll keep you updated when I get my M4400 :)

if its bugging you, yes it can be ordered with a latitude style lid.

i like the ripples actually. i think my girlfriend's reaction to my laptop sums it up pretty well. she went "wow" then said "it looks more impressive in real life"

like some of the thinkpads, it has a certain "i dont mess about" look to it.

Any new thoughts on ordering the M4400 with the black lid from the E6500. I'm ready to buy one but when I called Dell they told me they couldn't do it.

Is there a "right" way to ask the question?

    Thanks
