    Hey everyone, First post! YAY!

I have a latitude e6410 that I got used a month or two ago and it has developed an issue over the last few days. First it started by saying that my dell charger was providing incorrect voltage. problem seemed to clear up if i unplugged it and plugged it back in..

Now on to the fun part-

It is randomly turning off after just a few minutes of use. No BSOD, no shutdown sequence, just a straight up loss of power. It sometimes makes it 2 minutes after a cold boot, sometimes it makes it 4 minutes. Only event in the system logs is "unexpected loss of power" I have tried switching out the charger and battery. no effect. Still turns off at random. even tried it on the dock with same results. One of the times it turned off immediately when plugging in the AC adapter during testing (like as soon as a connection was made between the charger and computer).

I have been monitoring the temp on it constantly since getting it, and it usually sits at around 124f-150f from light to heavy load. This has been stable since i got it.

The processor is a intel i7 720QM (installed by me)

It has an Nvidia NVS GPU that I have copper modded. Everything has relatively fresh thermal paste, and there is not a speck of dust or dirt inside the fan as I cleaned the whole thing up when I got it.

    Other specs -

    Mitasha Blueray burner
    OEM 9 cell battery
    256 GB crucial SSD
Intel 7260HMW NB IEEE 802.11 Dual Band N600 Mini PCI Express Wi-Fi Adapter
    5540 3G WWAN Card
8gb ram (4 in each slot)

I have ordered a new motherboard, do you all have any other suggestions as to what could be causing this? should i be replacing the power port along with the motherboard?

could this be a silly issue like bad ram? has always cleared post with no issues, can not keep it on long enough to perform a ram test.

Have the old processor i can swap into it for testing. On a side note, when i pulled the heat sync last night, i noticed that the arctic silver 5 had not remained completely covering the processor after it cured (a good 1/6th of one side was not covered) did i burn the processor up? I have the heat readings up constantly (because i am anal) and have never noticed a spike over lets say 154f.

Also, I have ESET AV and am extremely safe on the web, I know 1000% that i don't have some virus.

All Bios and other firmware is the latest version.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ah, sorry. you are correct... i meant that there is 4 gig in each slot.

only has two slots and max supported ram is 8gb

Edit: so you just stopped by to correct my post and not to help? sigh...

    Well, update of sorts...

Ordered the motherboard as i had mentioned in my first post..

also found a new power port so that I can isolate that whole part of the computer and exclude it from the list of possible causes once i swap out the motherboard.

taking this opportunity to install the integrated bluetooth module and have ordered that as well.

    also got more thermal paste.

Going to maybe pull ram sticks out one at a time this weekend to rule those out, but I do doubt it is the ram as in my experience bad ram usually keeps the computer from booting, it doesn't typically shut it down once the computer is up...

Will swap out processor with old i7 this weekend to rule that out as well. I don't expect it to be a processor issue as it was stable until a few days ago and the issue is not propagating itself when i hit a specific clock rate or utilize a specific core.

really feel like it is going to end up being either the motherboard or integrated GPU. doubt it is the GPU. seems like it is not handing power correctly.
