Hi I was wondering if 100c on the nvidia quadro nvs 160m gpu is considered overheating and what can i do to lower temps. Already tried doubling thermal pads but made no difference.

Unfortunately it's not really that unusual for the 160M to get that hot... it's not technically overheating, but it's obviously not great... you can try to do a copper mod or something, but doubling up on the thermal pad is definitely not helping.

I had this problem for a while then solved it completely. The answer is that the heat transfer pads are worthless - and become worse with age. You need to scrape them off gently, clean the CPU and GPU carefully, then apply a high quality thermal paste liberally. Don't even try to use new pads. Doubling the pads will make it worse.

Copper mod is very very recommended. Been that way for both E6400 and E6410. If cleaned out fan/heatsink drops to 85c under load, you are fine. But consider the copper mod using 0.5-0.6mm ones.
