If you don't know how to take advantage of the unlocked multi on the X9100 (and I dunno how you can in the M2400 - maybe ThrottleStop or something), there's no point in getting that over the T9900 (unless it's cheaper).

I dunno if both of those will be able to play your game though; I don't game.

Oh, the X9100 is black edition, that's right. How do I find out how much it's safe to overclock by? I figure I could overclock it then undervolt it. Does anyone know if that combination could game at all, or what it could do?

The cooling with the Nvidia chip is NOT good.

I don't think you will have a good overclock with the cooling.. If any at all.

But I would be overclocking the CPU, not the GPU. Also, copper mods are discussed here as well:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...-e6400-similar-performance-cooling-guide.html

Anyway, the fact that it is an Nvidia chip shouldn't matter for the CPU, right? Unless you mean that the Nvidia chipset would generate enough extra heat that the whole system would heat up regardless. In that case I guess I'd have to rely on a CPU undervolt combined with copper mod.

Nvidia and CPU uses the same cooling system. Cooper mod is for the Nvidia chip since it overheats like hell, literally.

I haven't overclocked myself so I can't give the most accurate figures, but understand that you might not be able to overclock at all due to the heat. As the worst case situation.

OK, I'll keep that in mind. Of course this is only worth it if it gives me a nice performance boost. I have a P8400 2.26 GHz in my E6400. Would overclocking it help at all? Although I doubt any overclock I could safely do would help much at all.

You cant overclock the non extreme series CPU on the E6400.

Going from 2.26 ghz to 3.06ghz could make noticeable difference, but then again you are trying to swap in a motherboard on top of the "expensive" X9100 or T9900.

If I were you, I would save up and spend like $400 on a next laptop soon. Spending $100+ for that upgrade is not really worth it, considering how I got my E6400 used on Ebay with warranty for $140 with shipping (ok well I was very lucky with bidding, but still).

I got my E6400 for $135 on eBay with some lucky bidding as well. I was looking at GMA Booster but it seems my 4500MHD isn't supported. I guess I'm out of luck because that was my last hope.

Edit: So the x4500 isn't supported and support has been in development for a few years so I won't hold my breath. Is there another way for me to change the clock speed to 400 MHz from 160 to get the boost? Would it actually help?
