    Hello,

Does anybody have a Dell Latitude E5420 laptop? If yes, please perform the following scenario:

    1) Use your laptop on the AC power source
    2) Disconnect the power cord from the laptop
    3) Look at your screen, does the display became high-contrasted?

I have this little problem but after clicking with mouse on the blank area the contrast normalizes.
My laptop has HD+ (1600x900p) display.

Please let me know if this is a common problem or specific.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi xosman,

Please go to the Control Panel and select Power Options. Check the Power Plan settings for the Current Power Plan that you have selected for your system. Check if the LCD is set for similar performance on both battery and AC adapter. It is usually set to Maximum performance on adapter and Medium performance on battery to save power. If both are set to the same performance, you will not be able to see a difference in contrast.

If change in power setting doesn’t help, please consider updating the BIOS to the latest version available. You can use the link mentioned below to download the latest BIOS.

I hope you find this information useful. Please do write back in case you need further assistance on the same.

    Thanks & Regards,
