I have a new Dell e5420 for work, 1-2mo. old, and it's just started beeping randomly. It just happened right now as I was typing in the browser. I even went into Device Manager and disabled the Beep device without success (though I haven't rebooted yet). I also checked Event Viewer and nothing correlates with how often it happens. Can anyone tell me what this beeping might be and how to stop it?

    Hi Mpn87,

My name is Deepa and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. First of all, I would like to request you to please elaborate the issue as in when you are getting those beep codes. There can be two scenarios either you are getting beep codes while you are working on it or the system is restarting and while it is restarting you are getting those beeps. The second thing I would like to check is the number of beep codes. As you have also mentioned that when you are typing in the browser you are getting beep codes, I would like to know which browser you are using is it Internet explorer or a different browser? Please try to boot your system in safe mode and then check if you are still getting those beep codes. Following are the steps how you can go to safe mode:-
    >Turn on the system and immediately after that keep tapping F8 key for atleast 4 to 5 times.
    >It will take you to safe mode where in you need to log in and check if you are getting those beep codes.
Also you can try to use the same browser in safe mode and check if you are still getting beep codes.

For further assistance please do reply

    Thanks and Regards

Hye Dell_Deepa_R.. can my issues being address too ?

There's only 1 beep sound once in a while, the 1st beep after restart and login to Windows. Then the next beep (x1) come in random periods of time. But it will be no beep once I mute the speakers ;)

Please try to run the diagnostics as to check if it is hardware or a software issue. Try to turn on the system and keep tapping F12, you will get boot menu on your screen. You have to select Diagnostics and hit enter. Please wait till the test completes and please let me know if there is any error code or it passes the test successfully.
