I own a Dell Latitude E5320 Laptop running Windows 7. When I first bought the machine, its internal mic was working fine. There were four icons in the list of "Recording Devices". One was the internal mic, two were for the left and right jack mic and I don't recall what the fourth one was. My laptop only has one jack for both the mic and headphones (sort of a combo port). I could never get any external mic to work when I plugged it into that port. (any advise on that?)

Then the laptop crashed so I had Windows 7 re-installed by the same guy who sold it to me. Now in the "Recording Devices" there are only two icons even after I set it to "Show Disabled and Disconnected Devices". Both the icons are for the Plug-In Microphone, one for left jack and one for right jack. There is no icon for the built in mic which was there before the reinstall.

I updated the drivers for all of them and they all appear updated. I even downloaded the latest Audio drivers from Dell's website and installed them but still nothing. I have attached a screenshot of the "Recording Devices" window. I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out with this. Now I am completely stranded without any mic and cannot talk to my brother via Skype. Thank you so much.
