Hey folks, I searched for a while but am in need of help fast.
I've reformatted a couple of my own desktop computers with my winxp disk, so I tried to format my Dell Latitude D600 laptop tonight but for some reason couldn't back it up.
I've re-installed windows XP but I have a few drivers that aren't installed. Does anyone have a copy of the back up disk or drivers that I could download?
Thanks VERY much, I'm quite new to the whole laptop thing and can't wait to learn what you guys know.
    Happy New Year.
    Chris in Ontario.

You can go onto the dell support site's driver's page: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=gen

There, you can click on "Enter a Tag" to enter the Service Tag # located on the bottom of the machine to get the drivers specific to your configuration. If you can't find it there, you can simply click on "Select Model:" and work from there.

Don't forget to install the Notebook System Software from the drivers page. It contains specific hotfixes for problems that may occur on your system's configuration.

Thanks, I tried that, but the site will only let me download onto my desktop. I can't save it to a usb stick to install onto my laptop. I can't connect my laptop to the internet to download directly.
I did find one set of drivers but when I went to load it onto my laptop I was flashed a warning that it would set my bios to an older setting and didn't recommend doing that. Would it be alright if I did?
Thanks, and sorry to be bugging with dumb questions.
    Chris.

Umm... copy the drivers from your desktop to your USB stick? Maybe?

There's nothing wrong with reverting your BIOS to an older version, but if there's nothing wrong with your current BIOS, there's no need to change it.

This must be a setting in your web browser. As already suggested, just copy the files from the desktop to a flash drive.
