Will the Dell Latitude D830 have any trouble supporting an Intel WiFi Link 5300 WLAN card? I know its a generation newer than my laptop but the interface is the same so it should work without any issues, right? Im basically looking for a wireless g stable, low power, wlan card that will work with this laptop and think the wifi link 5300 may fit the bill. Thankyou for your feedback.

I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work, but I haven't tried it.

The one point to check is whether the D830 has 3 antenna wires (black / white / grey).
