I am running a Presonus Firepod (an audio interface for recording) and get static and crackle on playback. I have discovered that if I disable and then re-enable the 1394 network adapter in the device manager most, but not all, of the static goes away. I have also read in other forums that using a firewire card instead of the on-board firewire port could help. Does anyone have experience with this? What brand card would you suggest?
