    Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude D810 Laptop that has been on its last legs for a while and now it crashed.
When I start it up it loads the dell loading screen, then the windows (XP) loading screen. Then a black screen flickers for a sec like when windows loads and the cursor comes up on the black screen and thats where it stays.

If it is totally fried thats fine because its my backup that I keep at home but I like to watch movies on it and stuff so it would be great to get it going again.

Is there a way to wipe the system from the startup menu (f2 or f12 when the dell screen is loading)?
    Thanks!

Yes, you will probably want to reinstall Windows. Do you have the reinstallation disk that came with the system?
