    Hi all

I've got a choice at the moment between two latitudes:

    1) Dell Latitude D630: 2.2ghz C2D, 3Gb RAM, 120gb HDD, dvd/cdrw drive, vista, nvidia Quaddro GFX

    2) Dell Latitude E6500: 2.26ghz C2D, 3Gb RAM, 80gb HDD, DVDRW, Vista,

Which do you reckon i ought to go for between the two?

The laptop will be used primarily between home and university, so will be taken between the two places in my shoulder messenger bag, so will probably take a few bumps

Which do you people reccomend then? I'm looking primarily at reliability, i cannot be doing with ringing dell up 3 months down the line to fix something on it

the price difference between the 2 being offered makes no difference at the moment

    many thanks

I would get a laptop with at least 160Gb HDD. 120 is tiny, 80 is bordering on useless (well, for most people).

The hardrive isnt much of an issue to be honest, As far as I'm aware both of the laptops have the SATA interface, so my old WD Scorpio Blue 320gb can go in there instead (ive swapped the WD Scorpio Blue 320gb for a WD Scorpio Black 230gb 7200rpm)

    Current D630 owner.

Mine will be two years old in August. I've found it can take a few bumps when doing college work and taking it between classes and work. I've had only two issues with it, one was the motherboard having to be replaced in March of this year and my battery has completely died a week ago.

The motherboard issue was covered under the 3 year warranty, but I must replace my 9-cell battery (one year battery warranty only). The quick death of the battery is a very common problem among D630 batteries and it is $180 USD to replace via Dell Outlet.
