add 2nd hard drive dell latitude e6420, i have a 128gb ssd on board now, need to add a 2nd hdd to run a J2534 program that needs at least 120 gb free space, can I run program from 2nd drive? not sure if I should go with ssd or standard hdd 250gb to 1tb. I was thinking of adding 2nd drive in drive bay with 2nd Hard Drive Caddy for DELL Modular Bay E6520, E6530, E6420, E6430, E6320, E6330 (original Newmodeus caddy). any thoughts/help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can put a HDD or SSD into the optical drive bay. However, the SATA interface on the bay may be limited to SATA 1 (150MB/s) which is fine for a 2.5" HDD but would bottleneck an SSD. You should also be able to install a program there but sometimes programs dump a load of files on C: even if you install them elsewhere.

Personally, I would be inclined to replace the 128GB SSD with a 512GB or higher capacity. 128GB SSDs tend to be slower than larger capacity SSDs and this can be made worse if the SSD is nearly full and there's a shortage of empty space for garbage management.
