I recently tried swapping the low-res screen for a high-res screen and couldn't get it working properly - image is interlaced and shows a yellow tint. Switching back to the old screen works fine, so I know it's not a matter of a busted connector cable. Is there a setting that needs to be changed in BIOS, or perhaps some jumper that needs to be switched on the motherboard, or is the new screen simply incompatible and/or busted? It was sold as an e6420-compatible replacement LCD.

You might need a different cable, ie dual channel lvds vs single channel.

    Hi there, Alex,

You mention a dual channel LVDS cable versus single channel - I'm trying to fix two E6420s with horrible displays, and it's possible that the cable is the problem (I'd like to try that first, before going to buy new LCDs for each).

An example of the problem can be seen below. 1600x900 is horribly pixelated and has a red tinge to everything.

I see a few cables on eBay - would you know the part number for the dual channel cable?

No idea - maybe try asking in the owner's thread?
