Hey everyone, I just ordered a Latitude E5530 with FHD screen and I5 CPU from the Dell outlet for about $510 total. Just wondering if it is a solid laptop for mainly home use. I did not do much research prior to buying but getting an FHD screen at that price seems pretty good. The uses will be school related and watching videos. So a solid buy?

Of course, I will find out for myself when it arrives. :D

    Thanks.

They're great computers for the budget. Girlfriend has the smaller E5430 and it surprised me how well-built it is (compared to consumer-class laptops). For $510, I can't think of anything better with a 1080p display.

Sounds great. It also has 8GB of RAM so that makes it even better.

    Thank you for the responses.

It has been a year. Any input on longer term use of the 5530? Just got meself an E5430, I do find that somehow the keyboard is better than the one on my E6430. Has more tactile feel to em that make typing on my 5430 slightly better than on 6430. I am interested to know whether the 5x30 series can takes abuses like the 6x30 series. I know it cant beat 6x30 series being tri-metal. I know intel i series 3rd gen is no longer current but I still do prefer them than the newer haswells. Any input for 5x30 series out there.
