Dell E5500 6 cell vs 9 cell battery life?

Anyone got any figures on the battery life of these?

Is the 9 cell likely to be too heavy and irritating to be worth the hassle?

I can find 6 cell is 3.5 hours to 4.0 hours looking around but no information on 9 cell.

I can get the 9 cell for £50 and the 6 cell for £40.

If you're careful I'd say the 6-Cell can be good for 4 to 5 hours (assuming it holds a full charge). The 9-Cell will be give proportionally longer battery life... about 1.5x whatever you're getting with the 6-Cell.

 

Usually the more cells the longer the battery life but alot depends on how long you use if off grid and how long it is plugged in will determine do you need a larger or small battery. But remember smaller battery fits the size of the laptop lending to ease of portability without catching on something else. And some O/S are better at battery manager then others and another factor is what is running in your taskbar can save or drain your battery.
