    Hey guys,

I'm on the lookout for a new buisness laptop where portability, battery life and cpu are my main attractions. I dont really play any games but I do alot of Excel / SPSS work (statistics), watch movies, listen to music, surf the web and general MS Office task's (word prosessing, PowerPoint presantations etc).

I'm not that well educated when it comes to computers but if I'm not mistaken both these laptops (E4300 and PB 4310s) can handle these tasks fine right?

One of my main concerns is that it must be able to run Windows 7 flawlessly whilst multitasking (again, dont know that much about this sort of stuff). Will both of them be able to handle it?

Anyways down to my question: I'm really keen on the Dell E4300 but the price is abit steep to be honest even though I'm basically inlove with the computer!

The price being an issue for me I've been looking at other laptops and came across the HP Probook 4310s which, to me, seemed pretty similar in terms of processor, Memory, Graphics etc.

Is this the case or am I wrong? Couldent find a review of the 4310s and I'm really worried about heat/noise as my current laptop is basically a solid form of hot lava and sounds like a helicopter :) (got a quite old Dell Inspiron 1300).

So I figured I'd ask you guys as you seem to be the experts :)

    Thanks in advance!

    /Nick

One of my friends has a E4300. It should run windows 7 just fine, as any modern hardware (even netbooks, to some extent), should.

For basic tasks, the performance is more than adequate. Don't expect to play GTA IV or edit HD video on it. It runs very cool in my experience, and isn't too loud. In terms of build, it looks solid, but it's new, so I can't speak for reliability.

I don't know anything about the HP.
