I want to switch my keyboard layout to dvorak. Can I safely pop the keyboard keys and put them back on without ruining the keyboard?

If you rearrange them, you're going to run into problems with the trackpoint. If you're switching to dvorak, you want to become a touch-typist anyway, so you shouldn't need to rearrange. But if you really want, get a set of stickers to put on the keys.
Also, consider other options, like Colemak.
