Does Dell have something yet like Lenovo where i can have my machine scanned, be presented with a list of available driver updates, click on the ones I want and then have them install automatically.

The reason for asking is that I am having a problem with the wireless on my Vostro 3400 and after trying a bunch of things, I am contemplating getting another card or seeing if a Windows 7 reinstall will correct the problem. The issue with a reinstall is that I am not excited about having to chase down each driver and manually install them, remember the proper installation sequence of video, network, wireless, Bluetooth, touch pad, etc.

What wireless card do you have installed?
I wouldn't recommend doing a full reinstall over wireless issue.

It's a Dell 1501. I physically removed it from the machine and re installed it. I'll see if that makes any difference. If not it is recommended to get a 105 replacement card or a different model? The cards seem to be pretty cheap on Ebay.

I"m always partial to Intel cards. I'd get a different model card. Something like a 5100 or 6150 since it's a half height mini PCI Express card that you have. according to the spec's from Dell.

Finally got around to getting a new wireless card for it. I bought a new 6150 off Ebay for under $5! Problem solved.
