Hi there, i have a Dell D620 laptop with a fan issue. about 2 weeks ago the fan stopped working, so i replaced it with a known working fan. turns out though that the original fan was not faulty and whenever the laptop is first started up the fan will not run, but when i start up temp monitoring software such as
speedfan with dell notebook support enabled the fan will run, and run on start up with a restart, but never when first powering up the laptop.
Can anyone help me or provide and explanation to this issue?
    Thanks

    Specs are:
    Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2.0GHz
    250GB 7200 RPM HDD
    2048MB 667Mhz DDRII
    Running Bios A10

Laptop is in pretty good condition for its age (2+ years)
I have also encountered other d620's with the same issue tested one running bios A02 still the same problem...... and have flashed to A10 but still with the same problem.

Tried DELL Diagnostic CD with fan testing section? Boot with it and see of you can get the fans turning with DELL Diag on first boot.

How did you first seen it as being a D620 problem?
