I went here to find the drivers for XP:

    http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19

but these drivers are needed and I cannot figure out which ones:

    Network controller
    PCI MODEM
    PCI Simple Communications Controller
    Video Controller

I was only able to get the integrated network controller so I can go on the net "wired", still need the driver for the built in wifi. The video driver they have listed does not work, help with these 4 items please?

    Video Controller is either:
Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]
    OR
Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]

After that, just download and try install everything under Communications and Network. Not possible for others to tell which spec your laptop has.

If you have limited download bandwidth, you can open Device Manager and google each of the device IDs to guess which drivers you need to download. In Device Manager, right-click unknown device and click properties, go to details, and copy relevant parts of hardware ID and paste into google - need "VEN" and "DEV". (e.g. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_282A)

Yes use PCI Database to find out what you have. D610 shipped with ATI Radeon Mobility X300 option for most of them I believe and there is a 915GM option.
