Anyone else having a problem with Dell Control point Power Manager to power off the optical drive on battery ?

If I set it to power off the optical drive when on battery and then remove the power (so it goes on batt) it just freezes the entire system. I have to hard power it off and reboot.

Just saw this post...happens even after the new Control Point Manager released on 3/10/2009?

We completely dropped Dell's Control Point usage due to various bugs and issues.

Were the bugs & issues related to Power, Display, Tablet, Wireless or all?
Were they present after the latest revision?

Throughout the entire CP suite of modules. I couldn't tell you what bug was in what version. We lost track after a while.

    Interesting.
Never tried the System Manager for more than a couple days, as I decided Vista's Power Mgmt. & WiFi applets were good enough.
Control Point Security Manager though, has been flawless on my machine.
