Is there any way to check the number of recharge cycles a given battery has gone through?

I already know my battery wear (~45%), but I want to know the exact (or estimated) number of recharge cycles the battery has gone through since I've had it. Does the battery store it in memory somewhere? Is there a program that can retrieve it?

Also: my battery LEDs don't seem to do anything. I've tried pressing and holding the button, etc. Nothing happens.

    I highly doubt it.

I don't know about how accurate battery wear is though...the battery in my D620 is over two years old and I have 9% wear.

Does the battery hold charge? If it holds charge and isn't completely drained, then the LEDs are broken. Have never seen that happen before though...

I have had some with broken LED's. And on some of mine, you just need to use your fingernail and press very very hard.

My battery barely holds charge. Linux also reports it at around 60% normal capacity, which seems about right.

I've tried pressing the LED button hard. I think it's just broken.
