    I called dell part department today and the rep told me e4200 backlit keyboard cost 180USD:( :( :( :(


    there are no backlit keyboard on ebay for a while. I usually checks it once a week since April.

    anyone have an idea to get a affordable backlit keyboard for e4200?

    If this is possible I'm interested in one for the e6400 as well.

    Can't believe I skimped on that option...

    That's strange, I thought it was somewhere around $50 (or maybe that was the Studio series that I had researched before- shouldn't be much different though). Good luck finding one, I don't know how I ever lived without backlit.

    Yea.. Dell over charges on laptop parts...
    It's either you pick it when you custom build your system for cheap or pay a high price later on.
