Dell 1601 WiGiG wifi and bluetooth adapter getting very hot. Anyone else with this issue?

    Is this standard for the dell 1601. If you know where it is can you place a finger on the bottom of the cover where you think it is. If it's cool for everyone else I'll issue a warranty request. It works fine but it's by far the warmest component, hotter than the cpu, ram, msata, chipset etc.

    I don't think mine get's very hot, but I think the M4800 has a more spacious chassis and two fans, so that could be related.

    Do you find that it's hot all the time, or only when using BT or WiGig, or both?

    Mine runs hot all the time as I only use wigig 3 times a week. The chasis is very small but the thermal design could be improved. Yes your 4800 has much more space.
