defrag ?

    i cant defrag my comp
    says
    defrag detetected CHKDSK
    scheduled to run on(C)
    what does this mean?

    It may be a scheduling conflict with CHKDSK. Have you tried restarting your computer, trying to defrag in safemode, or a 3rd party program such as Defraggler?

    chkdsk may be scheduled to run on next reboot?
    Just reboot your computer. If it checks the disk at bootup then just let it do that. Then when it's done, run defrag again.

    Note - AVG8.0 on 64bit vista sometimes doesn't allow boot time chkdsk even if scheduled. You have to uninstall AVG first - which is pretty bogus.

    Defrag won't run if the disk is marked dirty (i.e. a chkdsk is scheduled).

    To check the dirty status of your drive (from a cmd prompt)

    C:\> fsutil dirty query c:
