Since loading the latest releases of the drivers, DCP management and security packages, along with the USH update, nothing works. I've been trying for a week to get it working and no go. I've attached captures of the errors to this post.

    Anybod run into this?

Also, what is the secret to getting good Dell support? I've been through a few chat sessions with promises to follow-up but nothing. I also submitted a 'no resolution' tech support incedent with a promised 24 hour turn-around...that was more than 24 hours ago and I haven't even heard from anyone. :(

How do you use your fingerprint reader without the DCP stuff loaded? That's really all I'm after. Thx.

I don't have a FP reader on mine, and I didn't think of that, have you tried using the FP reader manufacturer software eg. UPEK,I'd be surprised if there's not another way of utilising it.

Update: Dell support is now trying to help, but so far no joy. Within 3 emails we got to 'reinstall' without any remote session or troubleshooting beyond a few basics... :(

I would try to uninstall the DCP apps and install the newest ones from their site. I don't have the issues I had with the initial release apps. I would install in this order:

    DCP Security Drivers
    DCP Security App
    DCP Connection Mngr
    DCP System Mngr
    DCP System Mngr XML file

See if this helps, I used this order when I did a fresh install of Vista Ult32 and had no issues like I did with the factory Dell install. Make sure you un-install all the DCP apps even the security drivers. After you install the new security drivers, go into the device manager and make sure all the devices are installed and have no issues. I would defiantly try this before re-installing Windows unless you plan to anyway. Also it may be a good idea to disable and clear the TPM and fingerprint reader incase something goes wrong, you will have to set it back up though.
