On their website it is only available with a 6 cell battery, but in the forum review of the d830, the guy got it with a 9 cell battery, who do i contact at dell to get this? Should I order online or over the phone? Also how much time will shipping take?

The 6-cell battery on the D830 is seriously horrible. I borrowed one last week, popped it into my laptop (see tagline), and only got a little over an hour and a half use before it ran out. Whereas, with the 9-cell, I can get at least 3 hours before I start running into the danger zone insofar as the battery is concerned.

The higher drain rate of having fewer cells hurts the performance quite significantly.

I'd highly suggest that you get a Dell rep on the phone and get the 9-cell battery. My personal theory is that, because of the fire at the battery factory 6 months ago, Dell has been rationing battery cells in order to keep their laptop shipments up. That's why the 9-cell options on the website for the D630/D830 have dissappeared.
