D830 pointing stick buttons

    The left 'button' for the pointing stick on my D830 doesn't seem to work reliably.

    Just briefly looking through the service manual, I would have to almost dissassemble the entire laptop, including removing the screen hinges, to replace the shroud that contains the buttons, the touchpad, speakers, the lower buttons (for the touchpad), and the fingerprint reader.

    Is this correct?

    Would Dell just ship me this part (through CompleteCare) and I'd have to spend an hour or two working on it, or do they send a tech out?
