Hello. I have a Latitude D830, with the Dell 360 Bluetooth Module and Vista. The drivers appear to be properly installed, but when I go to actually attempt to detect a bluetooth device with the on-board Bluetooth radio, it doesn't find anything.

When I disable the onboard bluetooth in the BIOS, and hook the Microsoft-supplied Bluetooth adapter to the USB port, Bluetooth works just fine.

I believe that Bluetooth is 'generic' enough that any bluetooth radio should be able to detect any bluetooth radio, correct?

Also, the Blue LED Bluetooth light has never illuminated on my laptop when Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS and the driver installed/enabled in the operating system. Is this a problem? Does anyone use Bluetooth with their D630/D830 on a regular basis, and if so, is the Bluetooth LED lamp illuminated all the time (before detection of the device), or just when its communicating with the device or what?

When the laptop was brand new, a friend was able to get her Bluetooth headset detected by the radio, so I know its installed, but obviously I'm having serious doubts as to whether its actually working.

    Thanks.

I have a D630. The bluetooth indicater light is always on. I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, which also works fine. It appears that there might be something wrong with your system.

Thank you; I will call Dell and ask for replacement of the BT module then.

Hi. I ended up calling up Dell, and they shipped me a new Bluetooth module to install in the laptop.

    This resolved the problem.
