Dell previously stated that my notebook with the NVS120m was not one of the affected notebooks when the problem was brought to light. I purchased the extended service plan because of this possibility which expired on May 30th last month. The other night, Windows 7 claimed to have a heart attack while I was away from the notebook for awhile. It rebooted and the screen resolution was screwed up. Device Manager showed a problem with the Video hardware. Tried reinstalling the video driver with no luck. When the notebook is booting, weird artifacts are displayed. I go (insert verbage here) and now I know what others experienced. I'm not ready to buy a new PC right now with new models just coming out, so I contacted India through Dell's chat box and after 45 minutes going back and forth, Dell is willing to replace the motherboard afterall. The way she was first responding, I am not sure if she would have. I gave her some history on the Nvidia problem to show I was well aware of the issue within the industry and the fact that Dell and Nvidia did have an agreement for this issue. She immediately offered to send a box for pickup. Has anybody here received a replacement motherboard or know what is being thrown into these notebooks? Are they installing refurbished motherboards with the problem chips still installed? I still have a 2001 Dell 8000 Inspiron that is still ticking away at home with an ATI Rage GPU. Replaced the fans and the hinges and that has been it.

07/06/2012 UPDATE: Got my D820 back. Dell did replace the motherboard with a Nvida GPU at no charge. Updated this post in case someone else has the same situation.
